O que é o Leste e o que é o Oeste no contexto da Europa? Como é que a linha do meridiano de Greenwich, em Londres, não só divide o mundo entre os hemisférios ocidental e oriental, mas também cria um entendimento simbólico da proximidade de cada um à civilização? Ao centrar-se na Polónia, um país entre o "centro" e a "periferia", o realizador explora a forma como as identidades podem ser construídas com base naquilo que não somos e como isso resulta na criação de uma categoria de "o Outro" que podemos sobrecarregar com todos os traços indesejáveis.
What is East and what is West in the context of Europe? How does the prime meridian line in London's Greenwich not only divide the world into the western and eastern hemispheres but also create a symbolic understanding of one's proximity to civilisation? By focusing on Poland, a country in-between the "core" and the "periphery", the director explores how identities may be built on the basis of who we are not, and how this results in the creation of a category of "the Other" that we can burden with all the unwanted traits.

The film, consisting of several dozens of original risograph prints, is an under-the-camera, straight-ahead animation improvised to the rhythm of the scores of Hungarian Barabás Lorinc, jazz trumpeter and composer.

Hollowgram conjura grupos varicolores de imagens e sons rodopiantes de lugares reais e imaginários, como se olhássemos através de um flip book num sonho. Narrativamente, o filme conduz a tensão entre o desejo de partilhar memórias e possibilidades com o outro e o fracasso da tentativa. Conceptualmente, uma desafiadora identidade autoral responde às interrogações exteriores que nos interrogam: “Quem pensas que és?”.
Hollowgram conjures varicolored clusters of swirling images and sounds from places real and imagined, as if looking through a flip book in a dream. Narratively, the film pilots the tension between the desire to share memories and possibilities with another and the failure of the attempt. Conceptually layered over, a defiant authorial selfhood responds to the outside interrogations that punch in, “Who do you think you are?”.

A relação entre imagem e áudio forma uma composição entre movimentos que são independentes uns dos outros - no sentido em que não tentam ilustrar-se mutuamente, mas aparecem simultaneamente adjacentes, dando origem a impressões motoras e sensoriais.
An audio-visual play with digital image manipulation that displays body movements amidst a nameless desert, accompanied by a constant rhythmic beat. The relationship of image and audio forms a composition between movements that are independent of one another—in the sense that they do not attempt to illustrate each other, but appear simultaneously adjacent, giving rise to both motor and sensory impressions.
